A balloon drop concludes the grand party, taking guests by surprise with the fun,
impromptu moment.

Exhibits envisioned and built by UBalt faculty filled the event, inviting guests
to learn more about the University's impact and history and in the case of this tapestry,
even become part of the history themselves.
Around 400 guests, a mix of students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members,
came together at the Grand Celebration to honor the Univerisity of Baltimore's Centennial.
Breana Ross, a reporter from WBAL, delighted the audience as the event's emcee. Here

Guests await the start of a short film, narrated by former Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden, that considers the University's legacy

Jay Perman, chancellor for the University System of Maryland, gave remarks during
the event, calling attention to UBalt's impressive longevity and value. "You are a
force that cannot and will not be stopped. Congratulations on 100 years."
